This problem looks solved now. I get McDuck International Mailers again. Without spam-notice. Did my provider arrange this, or has Sander changed settings?

Hello bb.mcdrake.nl ! :)
A young couple on the brink of divorce visit a marriage counsellor. The counsellor asks the wife what is the problem.
She responds "My husband suffers from premature ejaculation."
The counsellor turns to her husband and inquires "Is that true?"
The husband replies "Well not exactly, it's her that suffers not me."

My reason for preserving this spambot is that the message mentions McDrake by its name, which I find remarkable.
A reason for removing could be the sexual oriented joke. But that raises questions about censoring. Should I also remove such comments by real people then?

Well, the English spelling and grammar is poor too. And, I'm sure that the post was off topic. But, really, it should be removed because it is SPAM.

Other instances of such spam will be removed because of being spam.
My question is about the off-topic sections of 'Off-Topic International'.

What to do if someone would write such a joke to an off-topic jokes-topic?

(Other subject.) Some quick notes about McDuck and McDrake, before logging them in a suitable topic:

On 31 December 2006 'McDuck International' has been frozen and archived at the McDuck-server.
http://discussion.mcduck.nl/
Since then the board continues at a different server under the name 'McDrake International', at the McDrake-server, with the 'McDuck International'-period included.
http://bb.mcdrake.nl/engdisney/

On 10 January 2007 the subforum 'Fanfiction' has been added.
http://bb.mcdrake.nl/engdisney/viewforum.php?id=15

On 10 February 2007 I've edited messages containing boardlinks that lead visitors to the frozen McDuck-copy of pre-McDrake 'McDuck International'. Basically this means that only messages from 2006 are target of such changes. Even though I find the changing highly controversial, if only for technical reasons, I've defended it for myself by the (to me) rare position of having a board being moved from one server to another (McDrake), keeping up a archive copy of the original 2006-data (McDuck). The benefit of having still working links is a problem at McDrake, because it leads them to McDuck without notice.
So, I guess the choice would have been either starting all over again, or only having the disaster of me (maintainer of the McDrake-copy) manually editing as much "discussion.mcduck.nl"-links I could find, turning them to "bb.mcdrake.nl/engdisney/". As the PunBB-data of 'McDrake International' started exactly identical to the PunBB-data of 'McDuck International', such links now refer to the messages of the McDrake-copy. I've added the "EDIT"-note "boardlinking updated to McDrake", to make clear that there's a change.

I could compile an overview of the changed postings, so that people can easily find their way to the frozen McDuck-copies of the messages. Or people could just choose to intentionally visit the 2006 McDuck-copy by going to:
http://discussion.mcduck.nl/
If the maintainer there is trustworthy, of course. :)

Technical and ethical problems are that the "silent edit" is turned on by default, and that editing here basically means that the entire message needs to be posted again. Any maintainer could just fraud whatever message that is sent, if only by forgetting "silent edit". Only when it's turned OFF, which I had to do manually in each case, the editing gives the dated note "Last edited by ... (2007-..-.. ..:..:..)".

In case a link was included in a text from a quoted source other than McDuck, I've kept the original linking. So far I found only one instance, by myself.

As the amount of spam gets unbearable without any filters, I've turned off the possibility for guest to post replies and topics. Hopefully this is temporary.

Old announcement:
Welcome! When replying or adding topics, guests only need to fill in a (nick)name.

Notice: McDuck International has just been moved from McDuck.nl to McDrake.nl. Not everything is finished yet. More details will follow.

Due to spambots this board is read-only for guests. Hopefully this is temporary.

Hi, everybody. I have´nt posted for a long time, partly due to health issues, and now I see that not much is going on here anymore. Is the forum about to die out? And if so, how come?

The name (and domain) has changed from McDuck to McDrake. I haven't properly finished and reported the change yet. Reason is that I'm rather busy in private circumstances. The board is alive and (if it's up to me) will stay alive. It isn't visited much these days, but there's already a lot of information here that will attract people. Personally I don't mind if a board is visited much or not, as long as it's useful.

Last year there were problems and misunderstandings starting up. And there are problems with spambots flooding the boards. This apparently has influence in people staying away.
There's a lot that still needs to be arranged. But in the meantime there is a board that can be used and that should stay on internet "forever". I plan this as a project with a long breath. A project that is intended to stay.

Hi Barko. Good to see you back. I look in here every day. But no one is posting other than Daniel73 (The Moderator) -posting once in a while about the Forum, or features he's added, or adding some information about comics, or points involved in stories. But, the only other posters in many weeks are commercial spammers or pornography sales spammers.

However, a new International (English language) Disney Comics Forum has now started up at: <http://dcf.outducks.org>

That one already has over 50 members, and they are truly international (many from DCML).Many members are from Scandinavia, Germany, Italy, France and USA, but there are also members from Spain, Latin America, Britain, Poland, Brasil and some other countries. I think that is what a lot of people who stopped posting on DCML wanted. It is truly an original international entity, not a sub-forum on a NATIONAL forum (such as McDrake). Its administrator is a Dane, but its moderators are French and will include possibly a German and Italian. There are a few Dutch members there already, as well.

I will stay here as long as it continues to stay operating (as I frequent the regular Dutch Forum, anyway). But, I think this English subforum appears to outsiders as a subforum of a national forum, that is not able to attract many outsiders.

Another board controled by the same club of Inducks/Outducks/DCML people? I'd rather stay on an empty board then. I've had enough of fanclubs and fanboys watching over other people's postings. McDrake/McDuck International gives freedom of speech, at least. How is Outducks in freedom of speech? Will people get banned when they complain?

Apologies for the problems of pioneer McDuck/McDrake starting up. I think your complaints about only me posting is greatly exaggerated. Apologies for the trouble with spambots here. Those have been the troublemakers in the last months.
I wish everyone good luck at Outducks. If it's up to me, as long as live, McDrake will stay. If only just for one or two genuinely interested people. If only just for myself. Problem up to now is that I haven't really showed what I could do, being distracted too much.

How many moderators are there, for only just about 50 people? Big Brother is watching you?

Inducks/Outducks is getting bigger and bigger, but they don't care for what they already established. They just get bigger and bigger, adding features. Their standard service, which is providing a useful wordwide index, is long forgotten.

Anyhow, thanks for the advertisement, Robb. Now everyone here knows that they better should stay away from silly McDrake. For me it's nice to know that someone is still visiting McDrake International every day, just to warn any other appearing visitor how BAD it is here and how GOOD some Outducks board is. That's freedom of speech, so I got what I asked for.

Point is: I haven't really started yet. It was never my intention to become a board administrator. I'm still getting used to it.
I just wanted (and want) McDuck/McDrake International to be a place that provides freedom of speech. At least, here are no backbiting moderators controling your postings for compatibility with their own "good" nepotistic narrow-minded taste. McDrake gives liberty. Unlike many other boards. If people dislike that liberty, they are free to stay away.
