Shelved, unfinished stories

Information from Peter Kylling's Barks site:
Carl Barks never officially confirmed that he archived a number of rough story drafts, which never went beyond the initial stages. But he did! It is only logical that a man who made so many published stories - which he quite exceptionally both wrote and drew - would have had numerous, additional plot ideas which never saw the light of day, and Barks kept a number of them in his reference archive as potential stories for further development and maybe even publishing.
For the first time ever some of Barks' first idea scribblings are presented together in the sub-pages. They are all raw renderings of initial ideas, which - for some reason or other - never were completed. By just browsing these hastily jotted first concepts you will get a unique insight into Barks' versatile way of dreaming up stories, and we, the readers and fans, can only regret that they never passed the first stage of production. Just think of all the perfectly fine stories we have missed (sigh)...

The examples chosen are all in Barks' own hand writing. The quality is, regrettably, not the best (mostly written in gray colour with a pencil on yellow paper) but you will be able to read the drafts without a transcript. None of the drafts bear any indication of the year they were conceived, but it will be a fair assumption that they were all written between 1955 and 1965.

NB.: The brief commentaries accompanying the sketched stories partly serve as a brief note of Barks' texts and are not necessarily synopses for the stories as a whole.
